Head of Engineering – Web3 Consumer Applications - Decruit - East Los Angeles, CA
Decruit
We’re an early-stage consumer crypto startup (small, single-digit team) founded by repeat founders with a prior successful exit and institutional backers. We’re building a novel consumer market that blends predictive mechanics with attention-driven incentives and leverages capabilities only crypto-native systems can enable. We move fast, and every hire will shape product, culture, and technical direction.
Responsibilities End-to-end responsibility for the engineering organization: recruit, hire, onboard, manage, and scale the team. Ship production code daily. This is a maker/manager role, not a meeting-heavy position. Define and drive engineering objectives, roadmaps, and delivery cadence with quality metrics. Make architecture-level decisions across our stack: Go, Rust, TypeScript, Next.js, React Native. Partner directly with the founding team to translate product strategy into technical execution. Establish engineering standards, processes, and practices that enable fast, safe shipping. Required Skills Proven experience hiring, managing, and scaling engineering teams at early-stage startups. Deep familiarity with crypto/Web3 concepts such as prediction markets, token dynamics, wallets, and on-chain mechanics. Solid technical fluency with Go or Rust, TypeScript and web/mobile frameworks (Next.js, React Native). Track record of owning objectives and delivering results on schedule. Excellent written and asynchronous communicator who can align stakeholders and leverage team to produce clear documentation. Experience making fast trade-offs (build vs buy, infra vs product) in a high-velocity environment. Comfortable integrating AI coding assistants (for example, Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) into the dev workflow while maintaining security and code quality. Preferred Skills Experience writing Solana or Ethereum smart contracts. Background shipping consumer-facing products with rapid release cycles. Prior founder or technical co-founder experience. #J-18808
