QA Automation Engineer - Apparent - Novato, CA

POSITION SUMMARY:

Apparent Inc. is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to drive the testing and delivery of solar energy and storage systems. This person will develop an understanding of solar energy system requirements and reflect these requirements in test documents and test automation software that verifies standards compliance and as well as provide robust regression testing for Apparent’s H/W and S/W solutions.

This QA automation engineer will bring their programming skills, detail orientation, and excellent project management skills to bear on delivering effective test automation solutions.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Define in conjunction with the engineering team system verification protocols.
Review field and bug report to Identify application/hardware weaknesses and target areas.
Communicate via diagrams and documents software test procedures.
Write automation scripts to aid in hardware and software testing.
Collaborating with the engineering team to solve application faults.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

4+ year of automation test development or software testing
Programming experience in any of Python, C/C++, shell scripting.
Knowledge of automation testing tools
Power systems experience, esp. power system testing, other industry standard.
Knowledge of TCP/IP in both LAN and WAN environments
Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
Detailed knowledge of application functions, bug fixing, unit test and testing protocols.
Experience with software repositories, GIT, SVN.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Good written and verbal communication skills.
